Morgan Solar’s Energy Blinds Selected For Testing By Government of Canada

Toronto, ON — Oct. 15, 2025 — Morgan Solar is excited to announce that their Energy Blinds have been selected for testing and validation by the Government of Canada under the Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) program.

The installation of the 133 window blind retrofit at Health Canada’s Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (LCDC) in Ottawa will be the company’s largest to date and the first to assess the technology’s thermal performance.   The project is expected to be commissioned in November 2025 and will test the Morgan Solar’s electricity generation and thermal management claims.

The installation will be installed in occupied workspaces and will capture the Energy Blinds performance on three differently oriented facades under Ottawa’s wide range of weather conditions.  The company plans to use the resulting dataset to refine the product offering and calibrate its performance models.

The LCDC project marks the third collaboration between Morgan Solar, Global Affairs Canada and Innovative Solutions Canada since 2020.  Energy Blinds were first developed under the ISC challenge stream Energy Producing Window Coverings, first launched in 2020 and renewed in 2022. The ISC program invites innovators to design clean‑energy and smart-building technologies that reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
