Mike Andrade
CEO
Mike has over 30 years’ experience working with dozens of the best-know tech firms, launching hundreds of products. He was one of the founding members of the management team at Celestica. He is passionate about clean technology and continues to be active in the Canadian manufacturing and technology industries in advisory roles.
Mike is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Business Administration degree from York University.
John Paul Morgan
President & Chief Technology Officer
John Paul Morgan founded Morgan Solar in 2007 to find a way to make solar energy significantly less expensive. John Paul had previously invented and developed fibre optic technology solutions with JDS Uniphase, and managed logistics and hundreds of staff for international aid projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
John Paul earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science and a Master’s degree in Applied Science from the University of Toronto, specializing in optics, condensed matter, and medical imaging. John Paul is a Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Appointee to the Board of Governors at the University of Toronto.
Eric Morgan
Executive Vice President, Sales & Operations
Eric Morgan is the original angel investor in Morgan Solar. He has over 40 years of global management consulting and information technology experience. He joined Ernst & Young Canada as a junior consultant and was subsequently promoted to regional and then national Managing Partner. After the global acquisition of Ernst & Young Consulting by Capgemini, he became the CEO of Capgemini Ernst & Young Canada and later CEO of the Capgemini Region incorporating Spain, Portugal and Latin America, where he managed thousands of professionals and operating budgets in the hundreds of millions.
Eric holds an Engineering degree from the University of Chile, an MBA from the University of Alberta and has completed several Executive Advance Programs at Harvard University, Ivey-Western University and Kellogg Northwestern University.
Nicolas Morgan
Vice President, Business Development and Marketing
Nicolas Morgan co-founded Morgan Solar with John Paul. Prior to joining in 2008, Nicolas was a senior manager for Madrid-based FON Technologies, a Web 2.0 start-up. He previously worked at Ernst & Young as a risk management and business process advisor to the Ontario electricity sector.
Nicolas holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and Bachelor’s degree of Social Science in Anthropology.
Hugo Navarro
Vice President, Finance and Corporate Services
Hugo Navarro’s responsibilities at Morgan Solar include finance, legal, HR and risk management. Hugo has 15 years’ experience in high tech start ups and energy markets, including roles as COO at Campusfood.com, and Middle East & Oil markets analyst at HM Treasury in the UK. Hugo’s previous role at Morgan Solar was as VP of Project Development & Operations.
He holds a B.A. degree in Economics from McGill University and a M.A. degree in Economics from the New School for Social Research in New York.
Joel Slonetsky, P.Eng.
Director of Engineering, Validation and Applications
Joel's leading role at Morgan Solar is in advancing the design and manufacturing of numerous solar technologies, he is in charge of Engineering and Validation systems. Joel also provides leadership and direction for in-house quality control and health and safety systems.
Joel earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Engineering and Physics from Queen's University.
Dr. Stefan Myrskog
Vice President, Control Systems
Stefan joined Morgan Solar in 2008 as a Photovoltaic Scientist. In 2010, he became Director of Science, overseeing a team of engineers and scientists establishing product and optical materials testing and characterization. He also worked with the optical design team and in creating performance models. Since 2016 Stefan has been VP of Controls, managing software development, electronics development and data systems.
Dr. Myrskog holds a Ph.D. in experimental Physics from the University of Toronto, specializing in atomic and optical physics.
Dr. Allan Tameshtit
Director of Intellectual Property
A former faculty member in the departments of physics at Bryn Mawr and Northeastern universities, Allan brings over 20 years of physics and high-tech intellectual property experience in his role as Director of IP. As a registered patent agent in the U.S. and Canada, he provides wise counsel at all stages of the solar energy patent cycle.
Dr. Tameshtit obtained his Ph.D. in theoretical physics at the University of Toronto and did his postdoctoral research at Harvard University. He also attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
