About the Position
The successful candidate will lead and assist on the management of supply chain activities for both the production and product development teams. This includes new vendor research, validation and on-boarding, contract negotiation, procurement and logistics support, maintaining a supplier database, quotes and terms. The candidate will maintain and refine company processes and records using third party and proprietary software. The candidate will also co-manage supply chain support sub-contractors.
Duties
● Investigate new potential suppliers for existing products and products in development.
● Liaising with vendors and carriers to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing
● Work with production & development teams with demand planning, consigned part coordination, packaging, quoting, inventory management and delivery
● Work with third party logistics subcontractors to maintain understanding of trade
restrictions, tariffs and duties.
● Preparing and maintaining shipping documents, communicating vendors and carriers
● Assist with vendor and part quality assurance / quality control
● Maintain integrity of inventory database
Required Skills & Attributes
● Familiarity with technical specifications including electronics schematics and mechanical drawings
● Knowledge of inventory management and logistics elements
● Experience in customs and import procedures
● Excellent organizational and communication skills
● Familiarity with Microsoft and/or Google Productivity Suites (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets)
● Familiarity with Monday.com or Microsoft Project project management software
● Ability to work well both independently, and in collaboration with the team
● Ability to sit, climb & crouch as well as lift, move products and materials and perform manual labour as needed
● Fluency in Mandarin
Good to Have
● Forklift license
● Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
● Familiarity with project management principles and tools
● Familiarity with scripts/macros/VBA
